A Derivation MUST define how the information a transition requires is derived, and MAY derive it differently according to the Agent performing the transition.

Non-normative: claim 11 puts this more tightly — "object-specific derivation rules to be applied for a particular authorization" — so the variation is per Authorization rather than per Agent as such. Since an Authorization connects Agents to Events, the two readings coincide in practice, but the patent's is the more precise unit.
