PM-CMP-0010

Models form a three-level hierarchy related by import

Models MUST be related by an import relation that defines parent and child. The description names three levels: Object, Component and Universe, from narrowest to widest.

Non-normative: an Object model holds one object's structure, finite-state machine and rules. A Component model imports Object models and covers a functional area — the description's example is Recruitment Management importing Person and Job Application. A Universe model imports Component models and covers an industry.

Whether three levels are normative or merely the described example is not clear from the sources. The recursion argument in PM-CMP-0030 suggests the count is incidental and the relation is what matters, but that is a reading. Q-G-0037.
